Adjust Inventory - Calculation of Est Unit Cost

Hi,

When I create an inventory adjustment to change the quantity, I notice the Est. Unit Cost can be edited. But those edits are lost because I understand that there is a calculation which occurs behind the scenes. How is the cost calculated? In some cases, it's being set to zero, so it doesn't look like an average. Thanks!
