I'm in Search Filter Expression Hell!!!

Ok...

I have  tried to create a search of customers with the following critera

(      Name/ID starts with g     Or
    Name/ID starts with h     Or
    Name/ID starts with i     )       And
(   Unsubscribe is false                 And
    Email is not empty           And
    Category is none of Reseller Partner, Reseller Partner - Inactiv And
    Status is Customer-Closed Won )

I have tried this lots of different ways and for the most part it narrows down the list to names/ids that start with G, H or I but it also lets through names that start with A, B, C, D, and E.

I'm getting close to loosing my mind here.... I have read the help section and it looks like I am doing it correctly?????
