Using Auto Generate ID on campaigns

We are looking in to using this option due to the formatting that this field requires.  At first we didn't use the ID field at all, but we are starting to change this process, but we don't necessarily like only being able to use the underscore in between letters/words.

Issues with this option: ID appears in the front of the title in reports and on opportunities.  Can the ID be generated, but not shown so basically we only use/see what is in the title field?  Is there an easy way to NOT see the ID in the opportunity or on any reports and only see the title field? I want the name of the campaign to be shown and not any numbers if i choose to use this option.
