[TABLE="border: 0, cellpadding: 0, cellspacing: 0"] [TR] [TD]NetSuite 2018.1 is targeted to include support for bin numbers with the same name across different locations. For more information, see Creating Bin Records in the Help Center.

What is Changing?

As of NetSuite 2018.1, if you use the Advanced Bin/Numbered Inventory feature, you will be able to create bin records with the same name across different locations. To support this change, setting the Location field will be mandatory when you create a bin record.

Recommended Actions

After your account is upgraded to the 2018.1 release, if you have automated the creation of bin records using SuiteScript, you will have to update your scripts to add a location value. Also, if you use SuiteScript to set preferred bins on item records, you will have to update your scripts to add a location value.
