Soft Descriptors

I am interested in using the new "Soft Descriptors" feature to help our customers better understand what they purchased. This feature allows us to associate each item with a descriptor (like company name) that would show on a customer's credit card statement. We currently use MerchantE Solutions as our card processor. I don't understand all the "behind the scenes" work completely but they somehow pass the info from Netsuite to VeriSign Payflo Pro using a "gateway?" called Vital.

After some research with NS and MerchantE Solutions I have been advised that the gateway used has to be either FDMS North or Paymentech, neither of which is used by MerchantE Solutions.
