WorldPay Pre-Authorisation
I know the topic of credit card pre-authorisation has been discussed in a few threads, but I discovered something new to me particularly in relation to WorldPay.
We recently set up our processor using WorldPay service. From the testing transactions we discovered all orders on credit cards had been captured as pre-authorisation when sales order were submitted, and we would have 5 days maximum to “complete” those transactions from WorldPay admin centre. The purpose of pre-authorisation seems to be allowing additional checks on cards instead of fulfilment. This seems to be different to the understanding we had from discussion here about pre-authorisation and fulfilment.
