Can we adjust 'Remaining' balance calculation?

I am a project manager level user of Open Air (not an admin) ... and new member of the forum.

(1) In the Project module, in the project listing - is there any flexibility to change the equation behind the 'Remaining' amount.  By default it is Estimated - Worked;  a more meaningful calculation for us would be Planned - Worked.  If this is possible - is it a configuration level change (by us) or a customization level change (by others)?

(2) How is 'Estimated' calculated?  i.e. From what screen entries is that amount determined?
