How can i create a SalesOrderItem object?

I have a few items in each order.
I tried create SalesOrderItem for SalesOrderItemList and put this object in SalesOrder field via API (SOAP - PHPToolkit). And I get "UNEXPECTED_ERROR", when i add item.
How can i create a SalesOrderItem object?
And which field are required?

PS I try send "item"(RecordRef - which i get from SalesOrderItem params - was added via web interface) and "amount" for SalesOrderItemList - when i create salesorder - and this salesorder has been successfully added.
