Getting Item list SOAP Request

Hi

I am trying to create an XML (SOAP request) which I can use by sending to Netsuite using send() in my PHP code. What I want returned is a list of all inventory items with all fields.

Not exactly sure how I can go about constructing this XML?   (as this is a first use of XML for me) Any help or sample code to achieve this would be appreciated.
