Invoice/SalesOrder Tracking Number

We are extracting invoice records and need the trackingNumbers data that is on the SalesOrder somewhere on the invoice as well.  This does not seem to flow into the invoice trackingNumbers field by default.  Is there a way to obtain this data without getting the entire SalesOrder record?
