updateList() order

Hi,

Does anyone know if the updateList() method processes the records passed in the order they are stored in the array?

Reason I ask is because I have large opportunities split in smaller chunks, and the first record in the array empties out the item list but each record after that appends it, so if the first record doesn't get processed first I would be losing some data.
