Cannot specify shipAddressList/billAddressList when saving an Invoice

Using the 2.6 API, I'm attempting to add an invoice after specifiying the billAddressList and shipAddressList. I can't rely on the default addresses for a customer because they will have multiple orders to multiple addresses. I am receiving the following error when trying to add() the invoice:

You do not have permissions to set a value for element shipaddresslist due to one of the following reasons: 1) The field is read-only; 2) An associated feature is disabled; 3) The field is available either when a record is created or updated, but not in both cases.

I'm setting it like this on the Invoice object before calling add(oInvoice)
