Did any one pull data via ODBC?

I am working on a project for a potential client. One of the requests is to pull data out of NS via ODBC. Before we purchase ODBC and commit to the project, did any one pull data successfully via ODBC using regular SQL select statements?

I have seen questions raised, but not answers from this forum.

Any input is highly appreciated.
