Images not displaying for new products

We are having problems in creating new products because the item / categories images do not display. We have created a case and they do not seem to be able to work out why not. So we make a product and then see if the image displays and if not we download the image re-name it and the upload it gain and then sometimes that works. it is completely crazy.

Is anyone else having this problem?

The first fitting has the same image as the other except I downloaded it re-named it and uploaded it again, but the question is why do the other fittings not have images.
