Employee Advances In Payroll

We are starting to work on our payroll implementation.  Our company does advances all of the time due to some of the employment agreements we have.

An advance payroll item and the advance repayment items can't be mapped to the same GL account.  It makes no sense and the implementation specialist isn't any help.

Does anyone out there have a workaround?
