Creating rental/hire inventory items

Hi Netsuite Users.

Our company hires inventory out anywhere from a 12,24,36,48 & 60 month period. We are struggling to figure out the process by which we would set a hire up as a service item (Which is the way we have been recommended to do it). Without using the suiteapp Sererra How do we even begin the process?
