Custom Field Not Populating from IF to Invoice

We want to scan information during the item fulfillment that will flow through to appear on the invoice. I created a custom transaction line field that is text area. I placed on the IF Form and we are able to scan in the data. But when I generate an Invoice, the field appears on the item line level, but the scanned data is not showing up. Any ideas why the data is not flowing through?
