need help in dealing with item promotion.

Hello,

we have implemented a new feature on our website, its the deals of the week.

this was done by creating a promotion code and then creating a scheduled script that changes the items every Monday based on a certain criteria.

the problem is that whenever a sales order that contains the deals promotion is edited, it recalculates the order total and if the item is not on the deals any more the order total is changed.

any suggestions to solve this problem?
