Set Inventory Income Account to A/P

Is there a way to set the default Income Account on a Non-Inventory Item for Sale to an account type of Accounts Payable? A/P Account Types cannot be selected in the drop down.

I'm trying to address a business requirement where the finance team has requested a subset of non-inventory items for sale credit an A/P account.

We may have to solve this using Custom GL Lines script. Any downside from a reporting perspective? Would we be better off posting the credit to a current liability?
