Report with Formula Rows and Formula Columns

I have a financial report with a number of Formula columns (calculating variance, and variance %)

I have now added a new Formula row that calculate Gross Profit Percentage:  (( SALES - PURCHASES ) / SALES ) * 100

This works fine, but it applies this Formula Row to all Columns - some of which give correct figures, but others produce nonsense (you can't show the Gross Profit % of the % Variance)

Is there are way to exclude certain columns from Formula Rows?
