Advance Notice: Deprecation of SOAP Web Services Authentication Through User Credentials
This notice is intended for customers who are using user credentials for SOAP web services authentication. This means that you are using user credentials with the Passport complex type for authentication. Deprecation of SOAP web services authentication through user credentials is planned for all integrations that use SOAP web services endpoints 2020.2 or later. What is the reason for this change?Authentication through user credentials is considered an obsolete and insecure authentication method. Oracle encourages the usage of more secure authentication methods, for example, token-based authentication (TBA). Additionally, by using TBA, you can avoid having to update your integration configuration when a password is changed. |
