Random date value is populated in NetSuite managed system if invalid date in correct format is passe

I am passing following data for custom date field                                      

2012-22-40T00:00:00.000-07:00   

             

Expected result:

Soap API should return error as date is not valid

Actual result:

Soap APi is returning success

Account is getting created on managed system having some random value in custom field for date
