Report Builder Filter in Footer (Column); needs to be changed to Total; but keeps pulling up Month

I have a report builder report where the columns are custom chosen to reflect specific months. The report always open in column Month Mode; which adds each month from PY to the top of the report. I need to change the column to Total in order for it to view correctly. It takes an extremely long time to load. How do I change this footer filter permanently?









With Month Set:


We want to change the column filter at the bottom to Total and get this:



Please tell me I don't have to recreate this entire report from scratch......
