Search Tips & Tricks | Add a Search Box Filter on a Saved Search
Scenario
- User needs to add a certain filter in the Available Filters tab of a Saved Search, but the field that they need is not available since the Show in Filter Region column is greyed out.
- User wants to be able to search for the values using a Text box, but the field added in the Available Filters tab is a Drop Down field.
Solution
1. Go to Lists > Search > Saved Searches
2. Look for the search that you need to apply the Text Box filter to, then click Edit
3. In the Criteria tab, add a Formula (Text) field:
- Formula: {item}
- Description: contains <5 spaces>
