NSC | Saved Search Formula > Calculate Difference between Start Time and End Time
Scenario
User is trying to calculate the number of hours between two dates and times in Netsuite.
The current formula used only works if the dates are different. If the start time and end time are on the same day, the result is zero.
Ideally, if the difference between start and end time is 12 hours, then the result should show 0.5 (half a day).
Solution
Use this formula in a Formula (Numeric) field:
- (TO_DATE(TO_CHAR({endtime}, 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'), 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS') - TO_DATE(TO_CHAR({starttime}, 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'), 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'))
