MRP - Demand Plan Import

I'm attempting to use manual CSV demand plan imports alongside MRP, but it seems this can only be accomplished with "Time Phased" replenishment methods... Are there any solutions for this? Am I missing anything?

Objective: Import manual 12-month demand plan via CSV import for items with Materials Requirement Planning replenishment method.
