Exchange Rate Behavior

Just a general question in which I couldn't find the answer in SuiteAnswers.

We know currency exchange rates update daily from xignite.com. So do all transaction update daily with the current exchange rate or are they timestamped with an exchange rate the date they are created?

Or does it different across transaction types?
