NSC | Impact of Using Lot Numbered Items
Scenario:
User wants to know what is the impact and advantage of using Lot Numbered Items.
Solution:
Lot numbered items are good for tracking and inventory control. Lot numbers are typically assigned to batches, it also enables putting an expiration dates to a batch.
Using Lot Numbers do cause additional steps since if you are using Lot Numbered Items on transactions the Lot Numbers will be mandatory in each inventory affecting transactions. Also, if not handled correctly there could also be discrepancy between Inventory Location on hand and Lot Numbers.
Whether this is needed on your account depends on your process and setup we suggest reaching out to your Account Manager for this.
