NSC | Convert an Item Group to a Kit Item
Scenario:
The user wants to convert an existing Item Group to a Kit Item to take advantage of additional features available to kits—such as inventory costing, pricing flexibility, or better handling in certain transactions.
Solution:
There is currently no native or direct way in NetSuite to convert an Item Group to a Kit/Package Item. These are treated as entirely different item types in the system and are designed for different purposes:
- Item Groups are display-only bundles used mainly for quoting and grouping line items. They don’t behave like physical or inventoried items and have no costing or inventory tracking.
