SQL Essentials: Using Wildcards on SQL Formula
Overview
Wildcards are special characters used in SQL statements and formulas to represent unknown or variable parts of a text or string. They are like placeholders that can match any character or set of characters, making them incredibly useful for searching and filtering data in NetSuite.
Wildcards are most commonly used in CASE WHEN statements in conjunction with the LIKE operator to perform pattern matching and conditional logic.
Think of wildcards as a powerful tool for searching, like a detective using partial clues to find the right information. They allow you to be less specific and more flexible in your search criteria.
