Before creating subsidiary records, it is important to plan the structure of an organization's subsidiaries. For each subsidiary record, its parent must be defined, and as subsidiaries are created, NetSuite automatically defines a hierarchical structure. It is recommended to diagram the parent-child relationships in the subsidiary hierarchy, starting at the top with the root subsidiary. This visual representation can help to organize and consolidate data for accounting and reporting purposes.
