In simpler terms, it helps you determine the exact number of months (including partial months) separating two dates, which is particularly useful for age calculations, tenure analysis, or any scenario where understanding the precise time span in months is essential.
Understanding the Syntax
The syntax for the MONTHS_BETWEEN function is:
MONTHS_BETWEEN(date1, date2)
- date1 and date2 are the two dates you want to compare
Note: The order of date1 and date2 in the MONTHS_BETWEEN function affects the result.
