Overview
The NEXT_DAY function returns the date of the first specified day of the week that occurs after a given date. In simpler terms, it helps you find the next occurrence of a particular day of the week following a specific date.
For example, if today is Monday and you want to find the date of the next Friday, the NEXT_DAY function can provide that information.
Understanding the Syntax
The syntax for the NEXT_DAY function is:
NEXT_DAY(date, day of the week)
- date: The starting date from which you want to find the next specified day of the week.
