SuiteTip: Use Main Line Correctly in Transaction Searches
Welcome back to another SuiteTip!
If you’ve ever created a transaction saved search and noticed duplicate rows, missing transactions, or unexpected totals, there’s a good chance the issue is related to the Main Line filter.
Understanding how the Main Line field works is one of the most important skills for building reliable transaction saved searches in NetSuite.
What Does Main Line Mean?
In transaction saved searches, NetSuite stores data at two levels:
Setting | Result Behavior |
|---|---|
Main Line = True | Returns one row per transaction |
Main Line = False | Returns individual transaction line items |
For example:
Transaction Example | Search Result |
|---|---|
Sales Order with 5 item lines + Main Line = True |
