Portlet Type: Custom Search

The Custom Search Portlet is one of the most flexible dashboard components available in NetSuite. It allows users to display the results of a Saved Search directly on a dashboard, giving teams quick access to operational data, exceptions, reminders, and actionable records without navigating through menus.

Unlike KPI-focused portlets, the Custom Search Portlet can display detailed record-level data from a Saved Search. This makes it especially useful for monitoring transactions, approvals, inventory activity, customer records, support cases, and other day-to-day processes.

Common Business Use Cases

The Custom Search Portlet works well across many departments and industries because it shows real-time operational data directly on the dashboard.
