Is it possible to import a large list of Promotion codes?

We need to create about 5000 promotion codes (coupon codes).  We have them in a spreadsheet and don't want to enter each one manually.  When I go to the Import Assistant, it doesn't appear to be a option.  Does anyone know a way to do this using the import option?
