File Drag & Drop error: You have no access to the default destination folder

After successfully dragging and dropping a file onto any record successfully, our client reports that they consistently get an error message when attempting to drag & drop a second file:

You have no access to the default destination folder. You should change the destination folder before you can drag and drop files.

This is across users, record types, and browsers. Any ideas? Thanks.
