Show buildable quantities for assemblies

I've followed along with this stack overflow answer on how to show buildable assemblies in Netsuite

and while it works quite well for assemblies that have only stock items, I can't get it to work with assemblies that have phantom's or sub assemblies. Can anyone suggest a tweak or fix or alternative to be able to do this?

My end goal is to be able to have a saved search that shows buildable for all products, if that includes sub assemblies even better. Thanks!
