Exchange rate question - Jan rate is used for Dec transaction

We noticed that JE47597 posted to Dec 2021, is using exchange rate of 1.26344, which is a rate we've specified for Jan 2022 instead. As you notice, the rates are updated once a month. And you would think that Dec transaction should be using the rate for Dec 1.27928. Would you be able to help us why the system is picking up Jan rate instead? Thank you!
