Two distinct terms

We have two lines of business. Merchandise and Service.

The financial terms are different for Merchandise and Service that we need to track at the customer level.

Is it possible to add one more distinct field "TERMS - SERVICE" that is free form text field in the Financial tab of the customer that will populate in the Quote and Sales Order?

Any pointer would be greatly appreciated.
