What is the GL Impact of Special Order versus Drop Ship?

We noticed that for a special order item when the item is fulfilled the Item Fulfillment record presents the GL Impact data.

If the item is a drop-ship, the Item Fulfillment record has no data when we click on GL Impact. GL Impact is only presented when the vendor bill is created/paid.

Are we missing some configuration?
