MRP Demand Planning - How to see which components need to be expedited?
We are using MRP and pushing Planned Purchase Orders to our procurement group very successfully.
When we release a Planned Purchase Order it includes the expected receipt date that is based on the items lead time. This does not tell the purchaser if the item needs to be expedited or not.
From the planning workbench it is possible to see when an item is really needed by looking at when the projected available balance goes negative.
We have too many items to expect the purchaser to manually go in and out of each items pegging report to see if it needs to be expedited. We need a solution to point the purchaser at just the items that must be expedited because the normal lead time is too long for the demand plan.
