Financial Account Mapping
When we create am Item in NetSuite we have the Income Account & the Expense Account. The question is we have different departments that sell these items so is there a way of having a program that assigns the Accounts based on the Department and/or Class.
For example the Parent income account is 123000 and we have 3 departments. 10, 20, 30. So at the transaction the account is 10-123000, or 20-123000 or 30-123000 depending on which department instigated the transaction?
I have also been asked if these accounts have to be Balance Sheet accounts or can they be directly revenue accounts?
Hopefully this makes sense, the second one was a question from our finance, so it is out of my expertise.
