How to use Payment Link on Sales Orders?

We are looking into online payment processing solutions to make it easy for customers to pay and reduce accounting work to create manual payments in NetSuite.

We do not always send invoice to the customers for payment. We have subscription based products and we send out sales order(proforma invoice) to customers to review and pay. If they dont renew then we close the order to keep it simple on the accounting side.

I see that NetSuite generates payment link on invoice that enables the online payment. Does it generate on Sales order? We would like it to generate on invoice or sales order depending on the product or service we charge for.
