Very similar experience here...bits and pieces in the kb published into parts of the site, yet they aren't seo friendly that I can tell and the layouts are, well.....yeah not appealing to say the least. Exploring RightNow.com and/or using categories with IntenseDebate embeded or a forum similar to this.
