  • How are you accessing data through web services? What reporting tool are you using that allows you to do that?
  • The Import functionality in the Authorize Commissions screen appears to provide a work around to this problem.
  • OK. I do have an additional question. I have another very similar use case but in this case I need to get the COUNT of attached records into a custom field. I am able to display the count through the same sublist process you suggested above but in this case displaying is not enough. I need to pull the count of the attached…
  • That approach never occurred to me. Thanks. It is working. Thane
  • We are just implementing Contract Renewals and have the same use case.. Does creating a renewal SO manually and choosing the contract manually there work? I wrote a workflow that added a button to any contract where the renewal opportunity has not been created yet. I then wrote a workflow script that sets the Contract…
  • No. Manually creating a SO and choosing an existing contract will just add the items from the new SO to the existing contract. I think I have been able to figure it out via client side scripting. I have a little bit to go. I will post my results here shortly.
  • I have a need for the same thing. We have developed a work around by exporting a forecast by item detail report to a web query, building a pivot table against the data so we can report by class and rep, then manually update a graph weekly that we publish manually outside of ns. It's not ideal but it works. I would love to…
  • Looking through this thread I can't figure out what, specifically, needs to be done to clear out budgets that were accidentally created this way. Can someone help? Never mind. Got it. Copy Budget from same FY and Category @ -100% with the "Replace" check box checked. This zeroed out the several thousand budgets that were…
  • With a little experimenting -- it works!! thank you for the advice. Looking through this thread I can't figure out what, specifically, needs to be done to clear out budgets that were accidentally created this way. Can someone help?
  • You are correct. That is how we handle it today. Unfortunately, that requires my order entry people to know all the tax laws in all the different areas and pretty much eliminates the possibility of accurately processing web store orders. Thane
  • I think I see this in the 2007.0 release notes. The Nexus manager and the tax schedule manager look like they allow you to assign different tax rates to different types of products in each Nexus (i.e., one rate for software items and a different rate for maintenance in each Nexus). Can someone who has access to beta verify…
  • So I am looking for confirmation of the ability to update tables with the latest tax information in mass as well as the ability to use tax schedules to tax different items at different rates - even within the same nexus (i.e., software is taxed in MN at 6.5% but software maintenance is taxed at 1.3% - 20% of the standard…
  • I was looking for a way to do this without using Alt. Sales Amount because that field is not automatically calculated. NS automatically calculates GP for inventory items. I need to the same functionality for non-inventory items. Currently, we have implemented the ASA field and a script on Sales Orders that calculates the…
  • Sure. We go back to the sales order (after the purchase order for the goods has been created) and force recalculation of the ASA field (either through a script or manually). Thane
  • Has there been any resolution to this. I have a similar problem. The built in sales tax reports are completely meaningless when compared to actual sales for any given time period. The taxable sales, untaxable sales, tax collected columns are all wrong. I can't make any sense out of it.
  • Team selling...with adjustment reps. If ISS makes a sale then he/she should make sure they are the rep on the order at 100%. Have a commission schedule set up to pay him $X on the sale of that product. If OSS makes a sale then make sure that the OSS rep is on the order at 100% and the ISS rep is on the order at some other…
  • Thanks. I will check this out when 2007 becomes available to me. Thane
  • Pipeline analysis should be an analysis of leads and opportunities. Leads, however, should be a precursor to an opportunity - not a customer. That is the point I was trying to make. Leads turn into opportunities that are associated with companies. Leads should not be a lifecycle state of a company record. Making leads a…
  • That is where we are not seeing eye to eye - definitions. In my world leads become opportunities - not prospects. Prospects are companies at which you have never sold anything and there is an opportunity (or possibly a qualified lead). BTW, this is how both salesforce.com and crmondemand.com manage leads. Thane
  • OK, since I don't see Netsuite fixing this problem any time soon, I created a custom record called an "Enterprise Lead" and assigned the fields I needed. I will then have the rep link to existing (or create new) contacts, companies and opportunities via custom fields. This should give me a link from the "Enterprise Lead"…
  • I understand how opportunities work - we have thousands of them in NS. Unfortunately, I see no way to mass import opportunities. How am I to enter hundreds of them from a trade show. Also, how would I know (without manually going through the list and checking them against our accounts in NS) which ones to put in as leads…
  • FYI - I ended up creating the functionality needed (leads --> opportunities) by creating a custom record called an Enterprise Lead, giving it the required fields for the information we collect, associating it to an opportunity and then forcing them out to reps through a published portlet on the Leads dashboard. I still…
  • Thanks for the heads up on CSV import on custom records. I hadn't noticed that. I will look into leveraging Upsell Manager. I have not used that to date. Warning - climbing on my soap box.... As for importing leads and customers, we have done a lot of this. The problem I have is the lifecycle of a lead in NS. Leads are a…
  • You are correct in assuming I do not want to see leads as a customer stage. That is the fundamental problem and also appears to be unchangeable based on other comments in this thread. Both Siebel (now Oracle) and Salesforce.com have stand alone objects called leads that are then "converted" to opportunities and attached to…
  • This is where we disagree - and honestly, I think the NS approach is lacking. With your current approach to leads how do you recommend that companies track potential new business opportunities at existing customers? Here is a potential scenario to analyze: We generate leads from a seminar we run to promote a new product we…
  • OK. For anyone interested in getting this fixed I have pushed up a simple workflow that represents how I think this should work. I think we need to create a little noise on this topic or it will never get fixed by NS. Here is my attempt at how leads should work in NS (or ANY CRM for that matter).…
  • Thanks. This is what I actually started with and have been unable to get working. It required modification to get the login to work and I have been unable to get the searches to work at all. Do you actually have this working? Thane
  • We don't having shipping costs but we have fairly complex pay plans driven off gross profit. We have set up pay plans and commission schedules leveraging the ASA (alternate sales amount). Netsuite's built in commission engine handles all the calculations for us. It works pretty well. T
  • In your saved search check the "Use Expressions" box. Some new columns will appear in the Criteria tab. The one you're looking for is And/Or. Change the value to Or on the first criteria row and this should get you what you're looking for. :) Tried this long before I posted. For some reason multiple "item sub of" criteria…
  • Let me rephrase this so maybe I get some input. We have various types of items we sell. They are categorized by using the CLASS, DEPARTMENT or item hierarchy (i.e., item sub of). Any of these ways to categorize our items is valid. Two of our categories are Software and Training. I am trying to search for Proposals that…
