The solution above was not related to the Assembly item. I finally figured out I was using the wrong Record Type in the Import. I had selected Inventory Item instead of Assembly/BOM Item. Once I made that change, the WIP field was available for selection in the mapping.

Tigran, you were right on point!! I think the confusion was due to a NetSuite employee created the script during implementation, therefore it was referred to as a 'Netsuite script'.

Thank you. Script causing the issue is a custom script created by NetSuite consultant during implementation.

This is not an Intercompany sales order. I am not adding an Item Group that includes the description item. The sales orders are normally a lot numbered assembly item on one line and, if needed, a description-type item on another line. I tested using the Description item in the first line. Tigran, popup occurs with standard sales order form. I was told by our consultant that it is from a NetSuite script, not one they created.

Steps to recreate alert: Go to Enter Sales Order. Select Custom Form "PZM Sales Order" (or "Standard Sales Order" - alert occurs with either one) Test customer 1245 Sherwin Williams Company - Center Add any Item of Type Description. Can use item "Description". Popup window "rate not allowed for this item"
