My Case # 772512 was attached to the following ER: Enhancement# 96772 - Reports > Banking/Budgeting > Budget vs. Actual: Report budgets by customer and item However, this ER does NOT properly reflect my request., the key difference being that I requested that a "Budget" field be available on ANY REPORT, not just Financial…

Jim, I'm not talking about only supporting project management aspects in NetSuite. I think there's one or two products out there that handle that just fine. ;) For us, it is all about the suite. Sean, I'm not sure I understand your reply. My emphasis too is "about the suite." Having the PM and Task Management tools I…

Jim, I’ve added my thoughts on this post – most of these items can be accomplished via customization. Where that is the case, we generally take a wait and see approach. Let me know if you have further questions or would like to discuss. Thanks, Sean Sean, Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you, but we've been…

As I review Project Tasks further, I am finding that they are missing some features on the old CRM Tasks:

Contacts Tab -- where you could add external contacts (like your client's employees) -- very important to know who is involved from the client side
Files Tab -- almost always we have files specific to a…

... this must be 91 now..? ... Yes, 82 looks Great! Krish0nan, I'm interested in KB stuff, but I don't have a clue what you mean by "91" and "82". In fact I'm not sure I understand the main point of your post. Would you mind elaborating?

Evan, Thanks for the clarification. But it's too bad we can't filter on the Customer's Price Level. I guess I'm not sure what the use case would be for this feature. Perhaps that will be made clearer as the documentation is more fully developed for 2008.2. I do have one idea I'd like to ask you about. If I added a custom…

Jim, I'll have an update on this shortly. Sean Sean, can you give us an update now? Thanks.

Where did you find the 2008.2 Sneak Peaks? I went to Support > Help > Sneak Peaks and it still shows 2008.1 Sneak Peaks Support > Customer Service > NetSuite Customer Support Center > New Release Info

The two general use cases are to filter the item list differently for different forms, and to filter the item list based on the user's department, location, or subsidiary. Now I understand. ;) Thanks again for the clarification. You may want to consider adding your comments to the PDF docs and Online Help for 2008.2. So,…

When working from a project record, editing Project Tasks is done by opening a pop up window which closes on save. This leaves you right back on the project record. Do you want the recent record list cluttered with Project Tasks? Look forward to your feedback, Sean Sean, It would seem that NetSuite's view of Project…

This new behavior was put in as an enhancement for customers who are entering large amount of text into the case fields. Obviously, this change has negatively impacted users who perfer smaller fields. We are experimenting with some prototypes to make field size configurable/customizable. There is an enh 95713 filed to…

Perhaps NS can make the statement that the new BETA is only for older/slower OS's?. Brett, I think the message for most people is that the early adopters of any new operating system have a high risk of encountering bugs, problems, and lack of compatibility with existing software. While I agree that Windows XP is an "older"…

We are still conducting Limited beta program for NetSuite for Outlook 2.0. We have learned a few things from our initial group of beta users inlcuding better support of events created on Blackberry (synchronized via Outlook) and Subsidiaries setting for customers who are on NetSuite's OneWorld account. Once these issues…

. . . outlook uses the more typical one record per individual database model. Actually Outlook uses a very poor database model for contacts. Any DB designer worth their salt will always separate companies and people into two different tables. With Outlook you have to re-enter the same company information for every person…

As part of the NetSuite 2009.1 release, NetSuite for Outlook 2.0 beta is now available for all NetSuite customers to download: Daniel, Thanks for the reply. But what I really want to know is when will Outlook Integration 2.0 be a "released" product, not a "Beta" product? Many people, including me, don't like to use Beta…

Remove the <COUNTRY> tag from the template Gang, Thanks for the tip! This is a well hidden ;) feature that I did not know about.

Well, I wish we would have been given the choice. It would be nice to be able to have the choice in Set Preferences. mho Angie S. Angie, you do have a choice:

Hold down the [CTRL] key and click opens in new TAB
Hold down the [SHIFT] key and click opens in a new Window.
HTH.

JMU - Thanks for teaching an old dog a couple new tricks! as No problem. We all can learn from one another. Tomorrow you'll be able to give me a tip I didn't know. :)

I have submitted Enhancement 112001 - automatically check the "include transaction" box on the attachment tab of emails when sent from transaction. Please vote on it. Eric, Excellent enhancement! I highly recommend it, and I have voted for it. Here are the comments I included with my vote: In almost all cases when we send…

Thanks for your response Mini. Listing the ER's in the release notes and sneak peak is helpful, but sometimes this does not provide sufficient information to understand what was actually changed and how to use it. Also, some ERs and fixes are released without any change to the documentation at the time. So that's why I…

Because there was some short planned downtime associated with this maintenance release, and the downtime was tailored to the different time zones, we went briefly into "phased" mode (where we run two different versions of the software). As a result, we needed to have a new version # for this release. Thanks, -e Why doesn't…

I've spent the last 20 minutes looking all over NetSuite for the documents listed below. Can anyone explain where to find "The Sneak Peak" document and the list of issues resolved in Version 2007.1? As soon as you log in to the BETA account, you should see a portlet titled "New Features". This portlet has direct links to…

I am curious on what business scenarios result in needing to re-assign a job - is it user error or something else. Sean, As a related need, we need the ability to COPY a job (we call it Project) and assign to other customers. This is a very common need, where you provide the same basic services to clients with perhaps some…

You will first need to UNCHECK it for the Vendor who currently has it checked. If you're having trouble finding the vendor, look at the list of Users.

I submitted a case on this in February 2007. The dashboards / kpi issue was known back then. Paul, Interesting. Did they create an Issue# for this? If so, please post. This is curious because the documentation leads one to believe that they are making a change for Ver 2007.1 to make the Customer Dashboard Transactions…

Is NetSuite going to address this issue?

David, if (js_is_job == 'F') I have seen some posts where logical fields have changed between T/F and Yes/No with Ver 2007.0 upgrade. I don't know if that is the problem here, but you might check the value of js_is_job to determine if this needs changing. HTH.

Valerie had promised that all documents would be updated for 2007 by Aug 24, but I have not seen any announcements to this effect.

Basic bugs have got to be stomped on quickly and no one is more likely to find the bugs than real users. Steve, Paying customers should not be expected to debug the software they pay for. Now, if you are referring to a volunteer group of customers who participate in a real Beta (not the pre-release "beta" we had here),…
