How do we test email alerts when developing a new message? Do we need to create a search that forces a single result? Should Save & Email or Save & Run yield the same results as a scheduled execution? Excellent point Steve! Perhaps someone from NetSuite will jump in here an enlighten us.

NetSuite has created a Defect: Defect 165532 - CSV Import > Items > Inventory Items > Add/Update:Error "Invalid purchaseunit/saleunit/stockunit reference key". Your defect has been prioritized as an S2 Thanks for the quick response in filing a defect. Please raise this to a S1 priority:

There is no workaround…

This will be fixed in next defect fix release. You can delete the other name side of the record, while preserving the customer record. William, as of today, 11/11/2011, it appears that this fix was never released. Can you please give us an update on if and when it will be released.
-
I really wish NetSuite would clean this all up and give us a consistent interface to work with. It's a simple thing to do, I don't understand why it's so chopped up and different. Bad. Steve, I couldn't agree more. Here's a thread I started nearly 3 years ago on this very subject: Best Practices for Internal NetSuite…

FYI, here is the Defect that has been created for this: Defect 164897 - Transactions > Sales > Bill Sales Orders: Bulk Billing is not respecting the preferences made on the customer record - Info > Send Transactions Via = Email/Print/Fax SUMMARY: Transactions > Sales > Bill Sales Orders: Bulk Billing is not respecting the…

The fix is for "Invoice Billable Customers" - you will see ont hat page the checkbox is now a dropdown. We did not do the change for "Bill Sales Orders". We can revisit and see if we can apply the change there also, should be straightforward. Evan, this is also key to our client Going Live. Thanks.

We are consistently getting an "Unexpected Error" when trying to perform a CSV Import of Estimates. The error msg is displayed on the Job Status screen after the import job has been submitted. Case# 874240. However, an Issue/Defect has NOT been filed yet. Please help resolve this DEFECT as soon as possible. We have…

Can someone please explain how receiving an error that says "Field not found" can be by design? Issue Number 164324 Type Defect Severity S3 - Important Status Closed - As Designed Release Target Under Review Case 878883 ER: Expose the {quantityonhand} Field for Custom Item Fields ________________________________________…

Does your import work in a test account? If so, it could be *something* in the estimate config. Andrew, Same exact error in our Sandbox account.

What is "system2"?

We have not received any response from the Support Rep. URGENT! Please file a DEFECT for this issue ASAP. It is a BLOCKING issue. There is NO work-around. We have hundreds of Estimates to import but are unable to due to this UNEXPECTED ERROR. We need this fixed in a matter of hours, not days. We must have all Estimates…

How many records are you importing? If there are many, have you tried breaking them in to smaller files? Can you successfully import one record? If you have done all of this, have you tried stripping out fields, only importing the bare minimum, then attempting an update import to complete the task? Andrew Andrew, thanks…
-
Jim, You can still use xml to import them. I haven't imported Estimates in a while, but it still should work. Let me know how I can help. Good luck! :) Robert, Thanks for the suggestion. If you have an example of XML import of estimates handy, that would be helpful. Thanks.
-
Nope, it's a text field. I need to import D/T, and the only way to do this is with a text field, right?

Steve, I ran into this same issue. I believe it can be solved by the following: Setup > Support Preferences >

General tab > UNCHECK "Default Case Form to Send to Customer"
Notification tab: UNCHECK

Creation Section:

Notify Filer On Support Rep Cases
Notify Filer On External Cases
…

The problem was fixed in our Sandbox account about 9:45 am CDT. Thanks for the very quick response NetSuite.

Marcus, I recommend always filing a case for these reasons:

The more people that file a case/issue, the quicker it will get fixed
Your setup might be different, and need to be addressed separately
By filing a case you will get notifications on the progress of the issue.
HTH.

The problem was fixed in our Sandbox account about 9:45 am CDT. Thanks for the very quick response NetSuite.

Well it's a good news / bad news story. The good news is that the fix has been made in our Production account, and it works. The bad news is that the fix was NOT made in our Sandbox account. We are doing full-up testing in prep to Go Live, and we urgently need the data our Sandbox account.

This DEFECT has NOT been fixed in-spite of received notice from NetSuite that it was fixed and released. Case #856084 Update : Defect 160837: CSV Import of Prices Fails with Large Number of Rows As of Sat, 3/28/09 8:00 pm CDT, we are still receiving "unexpected" error for more than 168 rows. Since in 2009.1 you can index a custom field for global search, that should allow it to have a keyword option, I will check. I modified this custom field and checked the "Global Search" checkbox yesterday. But I still don't see a "keyword" option on the search. Do I need to do anything else?
-
As a side note, is there some reason that the search type of "keywords" is not available for all searches/fields? We could really use this. For example, we have a field for old or alternate item numbers. These are a string of numbers separated by one space. Some numbers are subsets of others, like "10535" and "1053501". Of…

It's under our client's account. Your customer care case # is 855359. Support called this morning and did a webex to document the issue. Thanks for the quick follow-up. This is the ONLY 2009.1 defect I have seen, and it is for a new feature, not for breaking existing features.
-
Our experience is that users prefer a simple dropdown for fields with small numbers of options. That is why we have a "threshold" above which the format of the pick list changes. This has been the case for many years and we believe in general it has worked out well. Thanks, -e The best solution here is like with most…

To add to my frustration, I just filed an online DEFECT, that took 20 min when it should have taken less than 5 min. The problem: No clear section where to file "Price List" defects.

I understand a fix has been made and will be released Thursday night, 3/26/09.

It's based on the setting "Maximum entries in dropdowns". Evan, as you might imagine, this is not at all intuitive or user-friendly. Why not provide a direct option for how to display drop-down lists? The intelligent character-by-character search feature is a great one. As the user types character-by-character NetSuite is…
