• One of the greatest features of ver 2008.2 is the ability to set access permissions by role for each custom field. Maybe one day soon NetSuite will offer this same capability for all built-in fields. We can only hope, and vote on the Enhancement Request. I will check on this ER# and report back.
• Unfortunately, no, they have not. :(
• We have been unable to login to our Sandbox account since about 10:00 am CST today (2/25/09). When I called back at 12:30 pm, Support provided us with an alternate login page: https://system.sandbox.netsuite.com/pages/login.jsp However this also interrupted our Web Services testing in…
• Just got a bounce. Hopefully this problem is not back. Service unavailable; Client host [167.216.129.170] blocked using cbl.abuseat.org; Blocked - see http://cbl.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip=167.216.129.170 (in reply to RCPT TO command)> It's back. :( We are getting the same exact problem and response. How does this happen?
• Just got this Defect Update. There must be some confusion here. Issue Number 179278 Type Defect Severity S3 - Important Status Closed - As Designed Case 1145638 Defect 179278: Email to Customer of Proposal and Invoice are not being recieved by email servers reading from Spamhaus as blacklisted…
• I sincerely apologize for the blacklist issues many of you have encountered over the last week. NetSuite had issues with intermittent blacklisting over the past week. We are not currently blacklisted and are in contact with the organization that blacklisted us and are working towards a solution that will prevent future…
• Our netsuite emails for sales orders, cash sales, invoices, purchase orders are also being bounced. This system is configured to reject mail from 167.216.129.170. (in reply to MAIL FROM command) and also Client host [167.216.129.170] blocked using cbl.abuseat.org; Blocked - see…
• I have tried to run the Full CSV Export in 2008.2 it managed to get to 49% complete and then stated 135 files contained errors. Ian, Just so you know the "Full CSV Export" feature does NOT come close to actually exporting all records in your account. To be honest, this feature is a waste of time IMO. HTH.
• I completely understand where your coming from and could grasp at this for a reason that they have not come out with one. However they have decided to spend time and moeny making it work on the IPhone which just does not jive with this theory! RJ Lynn The IPhone capability is 99% for marketing reasons. Everybody I know…
• The worst part is that in most places NetSuite does NOT report what the units are for the qty displayed. This really needs to be fixed. It doesn't appear that the developers/testers have really ever used inventory. Just my 2c.
• The NetSuite plate is very full. Plenty of critical bug fixes and long-waited-for, popular enhancements. I know this will not please the folks on this thread, but frankly, devoting effort to make NetSuite work on a mobile phone just doesn't make sense to me. Even if the mobile browser worked perfectly, there is just too…
• Are you still experiencing this issue? We have a client with a similar requirement. Thanks, Clint Clint, It is working now. This issue was fixed within a few days of filing the issue.
• Case#: 812358 Defect#: 156955 Defect 156955 - One World : Transactions > Inventory > Build Assemblies. Cannot build Assemblies and throws a notice "You must enter at least one line item in this transaction" SUMMARY: One World : Transactions > Inventory > Build Assemblies. Cannot build Assemblies and throws a notice "You…
• BTW, you can also bulk delete records which just saved me 2+ hours I'm sure! How did you do the delete Steve?
• Use of the SalesF**** word, or even its initials, is very offensive to NS. All such references will be folded, spindled, and mutilated. The user's post will be towed and crushed. ;) Proceed at your own risk. Competition is bad. Half-life of this post: 30 sec
• Steve, I agree that the NS UI is way behind the current SOA. Some things, like using auto-sizing HTML tables, seems so basic, yet goes unused. Not to mention the more advanced CSS layout approach. What is very frustrating to me is the Form Designer -- it's a throwback to the DOS days of where you had to count characters…
• Let me let you into a little secret. Use Safari all boxes are re-sizeable, it makes life so easy and now you don't need a Mac to run Safari. Paul, Does Safari play well with all the other parts of NetSuite?
• I should have said I know that this is the primary key and therefore I cannot modify it in the csv files as to import will duplicate the items. What I would like to do is create a secondary field and then do a mass replace of the old Item Name/Number with the new one. Paul, You should be able to change the Item Name/Number…
• To workaround it, we always save the employee record without access first. This is the behavior that NetSuite should provide automatically. If the customer has exceeded their user limits, then NetSuite should save the employee records without access and present a friendly popup that additional user licenses will be…
• Yes, NS behaves this way in many places and it always causes problems. . This is the real issue. NetSuite has a fundamental design flaw and/or failure to have/enforce a proper set of application groundrules. Every application development I have ever been associated with (Windows and Web) has had a application-wide design…
• What is the problem with the item field? I don't believe there is a standard field called "Display name"? Evan, "Display Name" is a standard Item field. From the field-level help: You can enter an optional name for this item in addition to the Item Name. If you are integrating with a Yahoo! store, this field is imported…
• I still struggle with so many NetSuite UI issues, some are MAJOR problems that drive my users nuts. . . . I'm just curious how the rest of you all feel about these issues. To me it feels like NetSuite is 2-3 years behind the curve on web UI style, richness and design. Steve, I couldn't agree with you more, except that in…
• You could easily create a custom search to put on your dashboard that would do this. Not as convenient as Global Search, but at least it would get the job done.
• Jim, I follow your posts quite a bit since I was at NetSuite in 2007 and you are not alone in experiencing this issue. We have also experienced it with a client this month on a OneWorld COA import of over 800 accounts. Clint, I'm not sure why you would be having this issue now. NetSuite filed and fixed Defect Issue# 152383…
• Paul, I think I need to get the facts correctly stated:

I have verified this "Unexpected Error" on several different machines, and in several different NetSuite accounts. There can really be no question that it is a real problem.
The Support rep that I reported the problem to confirmed the same behavior on…
• Just received an email from Support attaching my Case to an existing DEFECT. The only problem it's the wrong DEFECT: Defect 152217 - One World : Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records - Import a chart of accounts. On the Field mapping there is no way to identify what NetSuite Edition the Balance Sheet, Income Statement…
• The problems with forum search, and the solution, was pointed out to NetSuite over a year ago in this thread:
Improving the Forum Search
• The search function for vBulletin itself has always been somewhat limited in its functionality unfortunately. This is an application design concern and one known by vBulletin. I am not aware of any future plans they have to update the search functionality.. Have you reviewed this thread: Improving the Forum Search My…
• Paul and Ray, I appreciate your counsel, but you're preaching to the choir here. The 500 accounts were developed by the company's corporate controller, who is also a CPA. It is NOT just an import of their existing COA. It is one he designed from scratch. I tried numerous times to convince him to keep the COA simple, and…
• We released a fix for 151277 last night. Can you give this another go and report what you find. Thanks Ken Seems to work OK now.
